Every time you finish a level it shows three histograms — cost, cycles, area — and where your solution sits against your friends’.
The real lesson is that you cannot optimise all three at once. The cheap solution is slow, the fast one takes up space. I do not know anywhere else that makes architectural tradeoff this concrete.
All of Zachtronics’ games work the same idea, but this is the most elegant one.
