Most turn-based games generate tension with dice. This one does the opposite: it shows you the enemy’s next move outright and every turn is still a disaster.
Remove the uncertainty and what is left is pure tradeoff: which of these two buildings are you sacrificing. It is a familiar feeling from post-mortems.
It was made by a team of eight who followed FTL with a completely different game, which is its own kind of achievement.
